Which branch of the family?

Back to family history

The Grandia family in the Netherlands, next tot Geraldo's descendants, also has a "loose branch". These are the descendants of Heijleke de Boer from Driel. On the birth certificate of her son Gerrit Jacob, born (out of wedlock) on March 23, 1817, the mother's last name "de Boer" is crossed out and corrected to "Grandia". Also, in the margin of the birth certificate there is a reference to a statement before a court of law in which Heijleke officially appoints the child to be her heir.
Heijleke apparently had good reasons for assuming the father of her child to be a Grandia. Because, as a result, her descendants bear the family name, they have been included here.
